Funding assistance for participation in the JTS is available through a grant from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). JTS 2007 is being held in Toronto, Canada from 27-30 June 2007.

Funding is intended to assist archivists from developing countries by defraying travel and subsistence costs. Priority is being given to female candidates and those from Least Developed Countries, Africa and small island states. The average individual award will be approximately $2,000.00 ( U.S.).

AMIA is now accepting applications for travel funding for JTS 2007. Each award will be approximately $2,000.00 (US). Funding is intended to defray costs for airfare, lodging and meals during JTS 2007.

Eligibility

To be considered for travel funding to JTS, an applicant must meet the following eligibility requirements:

1. Applicants must be employed as archivists or in a closely-related field, and demonstrate the need to improve their skills and knowledge through the fellowship.

2. The candidate should be seeking to expand his/her experience in order to develop new services or technologies in his/her home institution.

3. The applicant must submit the following documents:

  • Proof of employment with a qualifying institution.
  • Completed application form.

4. Applicant is responsible for acquiring any necessary visa or travel documentation.
